Here’s a quick pic of my K-Line Amtrak Superliner 80’ cars in Phase VI paint. I had decals custom made and used auto-glass tint for the windows. I have a complete set of 10 of these behind 2 Genesis locos. Added a total of 400 passengers as well. These are some nice cars to paint. Can’t wait for the GGD Viewliners to add to this set.  Adding Kadee 740 couplers gives these cars the nice touch and for super close coupling.

Thank you guys- the window tint is 40% which is perfect when the cars are lit. You can see all the details of the interior and passengers inside at this level. I also upgraded the lighting to LED using GunRunner John’s electronic resistor boards. These cars do not use any power compared to the incandescent lighting strips that were in these cars.

Hey Jeff, thanks for sharing. The K-Line cars are nice and your talent really shows. Were the lights you replaced the K-Line "Streamlighting" (I think it was called that)?

I have the 8 car K-Line BlackBonnet passengar set that needs GunRunner John's conversion kit. Haven't done one - seems like a good place to start.

Anyway - looks great. Always enjoy seeing your work.

Thanks again — once I made the decision to upgrade the lighting, add window tint, and completely repaint these cars I knew it was going to be an awesome project. I admit it was a big step as these cars in their original livery are very desirable. However, these cars, now in Phase V, look even better than the original cars. (At least to me) The LED lighting is a huge improvement as well.  It took a long time to complete the set but well worth the entire length of time and effort.

...When you get a chance can you please post a picture of the cars with the lights on so we can see how the window tint looks? Or even better would be a video of the whole train!

Looks great Jeff and add me to those looking forward to a future video post of that 400+ passenger revenue service train.  Routes w/ 400 passengers should greatly help Amtrak's finances.
