Hello again! I recently purchased a log dump car and sawmill on eBay. For that portion of my layout I am powering with an older CW80. I have tried every combination of wiring, following the wiring directions provided, and still get no power to the controlling track and switch that operates the log dump. I have several other accessories on the layout ( powered by an old ZW) and they work fine! Have read the “research “ on this forum and realize this particular transformer is a challenge! Short of calling Lionel or just moving to a new power source, any suggestions? Many thanks!

Could be that the fuse in the CW80 is blown. A fairly easy fix if you have a tool to open the case with.
Thanks Ron. But wouldn’t the fuse being blown have an effect on that track loop? Trains run fine on that loop. I don’t know anything about the tool to open case. Can you elaborate? Thanks
The accessory voltage level can be set by the user. Possible that it is set very low. Here are the instructions:
I was under the impression that you weren't getting any power from the transformer. However, if you were referring to only the accessory output, and the throttle circuit was working fine, then the fuse in the transformer is o.k. If the fuse was blown, nothing would work. Try the voltage setting as suggested.
Ron
If all else fails, grind down a screwdriver to make the triangle tip that you need to open the case. Here's the schematic of the CW-80, note that a common failure is the triac at Q2 that I circled on the schematic.

Have you tried using the two red "A" & "B" posts as common? Depending on the age of the CW, this may be the case. Using the red posts as common will swap the whistle & bell functions.
