Hello -

Has anyone ever attended the Dayton, OH edition of the Great Train Expo?  It will be Feb 22/23 at Hara Arena.

I'm interested for layout ideas and buying (of course), specifically for O scale.  I believe there is another Train Show in Dayton usually in November, but I assume that is not affiliated with this one (although I think it may also be at Hara).

Anyway, just looking for people's thoughts and whether its worth the price of admission (literally)...  Thanks!

The November show in Dayton is sponsored by the local division of the National Model Railroad Association and is always a good show.  The dealer tables sell out (often immediately following last year's show) and there are several operating layouts in various scales.

The Great Train Expo shows are, in my opinion, not worth attending.  Unless of course you have nothing else to do...

I too have been to both the Feb and Nov shows in Dayton this year, I would agree with others that the Nov show is good size, well attended, and has a reasonable amount to offer. The Feb show on the other hand not so much, there were several table of very nice post war items, but nothing modern to speak of. A trip to Entertrainment Junction in Mason OH with a stop at Dixie Union Station would be far better than the Feb show.

I will be back in Nov, but am going to pass on Feb this year.
