I have DCS 3.10 in my basement. It runs OK. Now I bought a new remote, 6.10 . The 6.10 won't find engines.
How compatible is the 3.10 with the 6.10?

They are not compatible, your basement will need to upgrade to 6.10, same as the remote. Everything has to be the same version.
There's no way for anyone to say. The features will only confuse whatever device is running.
If you ask something that has not been thought of yet, what answer would you get? The remote will not get a response it expects to get and things will keep going bad.
Do what rtr12 said; upgrade (or downgrade the remote) both to the same version, at least 5.0. 3.10 is ancient.
