So other than working with the new wifi APP what else does 6.0 do or should I say issues that need to be fixed? Examples all the lashup issues?

I can't get the Protosound2.com website to refresh. Did they take it down in preparation for the launch? Would be nice if they had a "undergoing renovations" landing page. Who runs tech for MTH? They need help.

I'm sure they're all dropping their Easter plans to get that website up for ya.
DCS 6.0 corrects a couple of errors that occurred while using the Standard DCS App and its TIU code is required for using the Premium DCS App.
For DCS Remote users, DCS 4.0 corrects an issue where DCS engines sometimes miss the watchdog signal and come up in conventional mode.

It's been down for days. Stop being a troll.
LOL!
I just don't get the urgency. When 6.0 is ready I'm sure the website will be up and running. I guess I'm just patient enough not to worry about it. It's all cool though if your excited. It appears to be an exciting update.
When somone announces its ready I'll be right there with ya George.
Hey George
It's back up now. Protosounds2 Web Page

You don't have to go to the Protosound2.com website to download the new DCS code.
You'll notice that the links on the Protosound2.com site for the DCS loader and TIU Firmware take you back to the MTHtrains.com website to complete the download.
Besides, the Protosound2.com website needs some serious updating to get it out of that 90's web page look. It still works but it reminds me of the old dial-up modem.

That's cool, but that's where the DCS links on the MTH website point. How do you get the download links without going to Protosound2.com or guessing?
Yes, the site is refreshing again, but I do not see DCS 6.0 yet.

It doesn't appear to be there but MartyF must have a copy. He is offering an early upgrade. I imagine it will be up soon if he has it to do upgrades.
You will see everything very soon. Not my place to make the comment when but I do have the 6.00 .
The app beta testers were given advance copies of the DCS 6.00 production code this morning.
It's the same TIU and remote software that we've been using for beta testing except that the production version displays "DCS 6.0" where the beta displayed something else.
I can't say when you'll see it on the MTH site, however, I have a strong feeling that it will be the first part of this week.

George,
I am little lost by your statement. I just went through the entire process of downloading DCS 5.0 via the MTH website and never once was redirected to the protosound2.com website.
I clicked on the banner on the right side with the info about the app. near the bottom of that page a link is provided to download DCS 5.00 firmware and loader. I clicked that link and filled out the form, and the next page provided a link to the download file. Nothing ever refernece the Protosound2.com.
Oh and by the way, DCS 6.00 is available NOW for download, MTH hasn't released the link yet. I'm not telling how, but DCS 6.00 is yours if you can figure it out!
I just got it, looks like it was available last Friday already? Check the posted pic.

If you click on the icon that the arrow points to in the attached screenshot, it takes you to the Protosound2.com site. Then you can click on the upgrade links.
I have not found the secret URL you found. I tried http://mthtrains.com/dcs-600-u...-revision-available, but that did not work.

OK, I followed the steps of filling out the form and modifying the link from the landing page. I was able to download 6.00.
I am out of town, so can't install it now.
George
I can't find it on the protosound 2 website. I can only find the 5.0 upgrade.

Boy you guys are fast. I'll be uploading tonight.
Now it's official...
Just go here and bypass all the Windows 286 era stuff on MTH's websites....
EscapeRocks posted:Just go here and bypass all the Windows 286 era stuff on MTH's websites....
this loaded without any signing in at MTH?
it says something like 288K so maybe it's not right?

It's correct. MTH's link above that Casey Jones posted still leads you nowhere. (site test is what it says )
If you go and do the sign in thing for 5.0 you will see that is also 287k.
They must not have really cared too much if people found it starting last Friday since all they did, for now, is change the end of the URL from DCS5_00.exe to 6
Easy as pie. So can the beta testers tell us can you run Legacy engines from the remote or only the app? Suspect app only.
That link was working when I posted it.
Casey's link worked on another site and I got it there too. Both are the same #bits things whatever....
the post way above must be wrong about the size.

Those are the unzipped sizes.

Actually MTH has done this for a while, Back when I upgraded to 4.3 I had it a day before it was announce, and 5.00 (with the loader) was available two days before the announcement.
Here's another thought, If this works for the DCS firmware, does it work for MTH Catalog downloads?? Maybe 2017 Volume 2 is already out and we just need to find the hidden link to get it.... I'll save you the trouble, it doesn't.
Somehow I think that now the cat is out of the Bag on this, MTH will change how they release future software to the public. Enjoy it while it lasts everyone.

I like this link!!! A while ago I was looking for a revision history of the the DCS Firmware and this page has it!!
To upgrade to DCS 6.0, must you have DCS 5.0 installed or can you upgrade from an earlier version of the DCS software? (example: go from DCS 4.3 directly to DCS 6.0). I did not see anything in the DCS 6.0 application notes, indicating one way or the other.
Thanks,
Bob D

You can upgrade directly to 6.0 but MUST use the 5.0 loader.
