Just got the RK RTR UP SD70ACe Freight set, which came with the DCS Remote Commander. Is there a way to use that remote lockon with Lionel Fastrack? Or, do I need a different lockon? From the looks of the remote lockon By the way, I've already noticed the difference between RealTrax and Fastrack...e.g. how much better Fastrack is than the RealTrax. Brand new to MTH Trains and DCS...just getting back into the hobby after a long long time.

The dCS Remote Commander receiver can connect to your FasTrack using a FasTrack lockon.
Just take the two connecting wires from your FasTrack (the ones with the slip-on banana plugs on one end that connect to the lugs on the bottom of the FasTrack) and connect the other end(s) to the two terminals on the DCS-RC receiver (center rail to the red terminal and outside rail to black). Plug a Z-750 or Z-1000 power brick into the port on the opposite side of the receiver and you're good to go.
Thanks guys - both very helpful!
pbuff,
It sounds like you are starting to get into the hobby a little more, so I will recommend this to you. Eventually purchase the Z4K, and the DCS. The remote commander is nice but there is so much more to have fun with using the DCS remote control, with the AIU and switches, and other automated scenery. It really operates great using FasTrack also.
