I think that some of the Demos being offered are pretty nice looking----some nice colors and designs.  I am wondering how the railroads treated them and how the manufacturer reciprocated.  Are there records out there that would list when and for how long a model would visit a railroad?  Specifically,I wonder if the E6 ever rode the rails of the PRR pulling some passenger cars.

I wish the mfgs/ importers see these colorful units as attention getters and good sellers. With that in mind, why can't those same mfgs/ importers paint some of their models already tooled into demo schemes on their next runs? Models like:

EMD SW1, NW2, E6, F7, FP7, MP15, SD80, ALCo FA-2, RS11, GE U25B, BLW VO 1000, FM H-15-44, C-Liners?
