Just wondering? I wouldn't mind a couple for my Blue commet "O" gauge engine.

A few years ago MTH did a tinplate Jersey Central boxcar in the Blue Comet colors. It even said "Route of the Blue Comet"
I have a MTH 10-8051 2814R Jersey Central from 2006

Steve and Chris
That is the car I was referring to. It is on Page 19 of the 2006 Tinplate catalogue.
These two standard gauge were announced here on the forum back in July. Originally slated for September now show up as decemberdelivery:
I would like to find one like Steve has. Anything in those colors works for me!
The 2004 car has 500 series trucks to mate evenly behind a Blue Comet passenger set. I guess all three STG Blue Comets now. State Cars Blue Comet colors, Traditional Blue Comet and the Baby Blue Comet.
I have seen the 2004 car sell as high as $177 on E-Bay.
The 2 cars posted above from LCT have 500 series trucks per the catalogue photos.
There is also a searchlight car...10-2175. Steve's car is 0 gauge, no? The Standatd gauge BC box car is the 10-2173. The Sg tanks is 10-2219. Jim C...you say the new cars have 500 series trucks? Even though they are listed as 200 series cars? They look like 200 series trucks to me on line.
Here are some pictures.
The tank car and box car have 2 molded springs in the truck.
The searchlight car has 4 molded springs in the truck.
I checked down stairs and the 2 molded springs are 500 series trucks. Downstairs 200 series trucks have a cut out in the middle and a molded spring on each side of it.
Not sure of the trucks on the searchlight car. Did they add 2 more molded springs to the 500 series trucks?
I think the Mil Rd 200 series car has 500 trucks to match the Hiawatha for use as a head end car. Not sure about the REA express car.

The coupler height of the searchlight car seems to be the same as 500 series cars ...I run my searchlight car with the rest of my 384E BC set.
What will be the coupler height of the new caboose and boxcar? Will they be compatible with the previously issued BC freight cars?
The product locator photo shows a 200 series truck on the caboose and a 500 series truck on the Box car.
Missed the O gauge part.
