Ex UP Alco FA and FB are dead in tow on the CBS Railroad. The Alco's were used on Mitch's Razorback Traction Co. out of Springdale, Arkansas.  But due to all of the black smoke that the Alco's put out the gi-raffe's refused to stick their heads out of the top of the cars and were starting to talk about joining the UGA (United Gi-raffes of America Union).  The CBS train is heading west and will leave the Alco's on KCS's interchange track,  The KCS will move them south to the Siloam Springs and Western (SSW) at Siloam Springs, Arkansas. The CBS shops rebuilt the Alco's into road slugs and the SSW will use them in high speed freights,  (P.S. high speed to the SSW is 25 mph, which is the short lines mainline speed limit)

The things sticking out of the top of the water tower are cell phone antennas. Which are the made from the little plastic things that are in large pizza boxes to keep the box lid off of the pizza.100_1939

Every week I take that stupid piece of plastic off the pizza and say to myself "self- somebody out there in OGR land must have a use for these things for something other than a table"

Glad to know that no Gi-raffes were harmed in the making of this thread

On Santa Fe, we used the designation D I C (dead in consist) for dead units in multiple-unit control status (jumper cables plugged in, auxiliary air hoses connected [main reservoir, application/release, actuating, forward and reverse sanding if equipped] in addition to the brake pipe hoses).

Dead units with only the brake pipe connected (and dead-engine cock properly positioned) were referred to as D I T (dead in tow) whether coupled right behind the engine or back in the train.
