Difference between Lion Chief and Lion Chief Plus NW-2 diesel

Lionel catalog says that LionChief+ does everything that LionChief does and may have higher end realism. The important difference is that LionChief+ can be operated with the remote or by traditional transformer. 

LionChief+ also offers constant speed control, remote electric operating couplers, and smoke( n most units). I also find that LC+ has better sound than LC.

Without knowing anything else about the potential buyer, go with the Lion Chief Plus. Better overall looks, quality and features. And the ability to operate either conventionally or with the supplied remote is a plus.

I think the question is moot. As far as I know, there are no plain LionChief NW2s. All NW2 switchers Lionel has made are LC+ engines.

This one had me puzzled. I've never seen a LC NW-2 from Lionel, just conventional, TMCC, and the more recent LC+ and Legacy.

Somewhat off topic, but I couldn't find the roadnames or colors I wanted for NW-2 switchers, so I picked up two low-cost WBB NW-2s and had a forum member upgrade to TMCC with ERR technology.  They run awesome, maybe not as sexy as the new Legacies and no smoke, but terrific switchers with cruise at low speed. All in about $300 each.

Yes, you guys (several of you!) are correct. Now that I went back and read the original post totally agree. If the buyer is looking to choose between a LC / LC+ NW2 it's only available in LC+.

I have a handful of LC+ locos (with a new one on the way soon) and my B&O livery NW2 is just a great runner.
