I don't have any real knowledge of tin-plate other than I totally fell in love with it over my other MTH command trains. I'm coming here for a question because I know there are tons of experts here.
My question is about one of the cars that I bought in 2014. I bought from Trackside Hobbies 2 sets and 1 add on car that year, and another add on car the following year.. The add-on car in question is an M&M one, the 2nd one that I bought.
I had a friend over last night to "play trains" and he noticed something that I never did. He noticed that the M&M car had brown colored "side parts to the trucks" while all the other cars had silver. I picked it up to examine and also noticed for the first time ever that all of my other cars have silver wheels but this one has black wheels.
Both sets and both add on cars are by Lionel By MTH (the new stuff).
Maybe important: I haven't bought anything since 2015 when I bought the M&M car.
Is there a known reason why the M&M car has brown side trucks and black wheels but no other cars do?
