Hello Chris, Everything's OK! I did shut the business down temporarily, but I'm just starting to get back on my feet again. Business was so bad in the second half of '11 that I was forced to go out and find work. Not an easy thing to do in this environment, but I succeeded and I'm very happy with it. The downside was that it took so much of my time that I had none left over for the business, so I took a small hiatus. I'm slowly getting things back and running, but my approach will be different this time. I'm moving away from the Christmas houses and concentrating on the train business. I'm also taking a low-key approach(no advertising, no ebay store) and I'll just make what I think the tinplaters may like - if it sells, great. If not, I'll just put it on my layout and make something else. Feel free to forward my email to anyone looking for me, because I will take orders from the train community. The website will be updated when I figure out decisively what I'm doing.

Thank you for the kind words Wayne; It's my pleasure.
In addition to the excellent custom buildings made by Dimestore Dewellings, at:

there are a couple of other sources for O gauge putz buildings. You may want to try the following:

Hello; looking for help. Trying to get in touch with Karl Fey at Dimestore Dwellings. I've tried his email but keep getting my messages returned. Is there another address or phone number I can use. I'm looking to add some more of his buildings to my layout. They are terrific looking and have a real 50's tinplate flavour to them. Saw him at the October York show and things were well with him. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to all stateside from your neighbours to the north, wayne
I talked with him for quite a bit at York in October. If he was closing shop, he didn't pass that info on at that time. If I find his business card, i'll post the contact info in case it has changed.

Thanks, I would appreciate that. waynew
Both Standard Gauge-sized and O gauge-sized holiday "putz" houses are again for sale at Home Goods stores. They ranged in price from $5.99 to $15.99.

I have looked around, and I couldn't find his card. The box of the house I bought from him had nothing on it either. I'm sorry I couldn't help,

Well, I found the postcard that I had picked up from him last York. It doesn't have anything but the dimestoredwellings website and his name.
Perhaps you can get contact information from the TCA Directory?
