Over the holidays, my loving wife allowed me to set up our Christmas train layout in 1/3 of our living room (20' X 5') partly due to Covid as our family was not gathering all together. I was able to put into practice some of what I learned on-line and in this forum about wiring my track and accessories.

I also purchased two Menard buildings that were on-sale. The only problem is that I had to use the Menard 4.5 volt transformer (or equal) and they turn out to be pretty bright compared to the other train lighting. My question is can they be dimmed safely? I could put a line dimmer on the transformers but am not sure if that would harm either the transformers or the lighting system within the building. I know very little about electronics. I could also block out some of the LED lights.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Thank you Richie and Leo for your suggestions. I will do some research on diodes to keep the solution in the electronic realm for future reference. Trouble is, I need a specific methodology or diagram as to how to implement the fix as again I know little about circuits, etc. but am willing to learn. Will keep searching as this forum has a wealth of knowledge and advice.
