Dimples on cab of the Marx CV | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Picked up one of these at a flea market dirt cheap. Looking at it I see 2 dimples on both sides of the cab. I thought maybe a plaque of some kind was missing. Started looking at some Marx sites and eBay and it seems all of them, that I could find, had the dimples though I would swear that I had seen a few with something there. Maybe the CP version.

Does anyone know what these were for?

I think what you mean are the two tab slots. These are for the tabs for the cab floor.

Actually there is another possibility

If you mean the set above the tab slots then these would correspond to the location of the old "Mercury" Label
