I bought the Polar Express one & the Fast track accesory activator pack (PLUG & PLAY version) .
The gateman will not will not come out. the lights come on but no action !

I not sure if this helps or not as I am not familiar with the "plug and play", but are the "Breaks" in the outer rail of the 5" sections both located on the same side and opposite the Lock-on. Also if you are trying to lengthen the distance the gateman is activated, you have to either purchase a straight section without the bar on the underside of the track that connects the two outer rails or you have to remove it on the current one.

The FasTrack Plug and Play Lock On and the FasTrack Accessory Activator Pack look similar - ensure you are using the proper track section.

I followed the directions ! but no actions by the gateman.
My only other comment would be that you are "not" using the Remote Control Box. The Remote Control Box is not needed when using the accessory activator pack. This may require a call to Lionel or a trip to your LHS. Good Luck.
@Zeke13 I tried what you said and it worked great My breaks on the 5 inch tracks were not aligned to the same side Now they are and are opposite from the Lock on. Love your diagram! Lionel needs to adopt in their handbook. Lol
I bought the nutcracker gatesman many years ago. The manual for the accessory track and the gateman showed that the cuts in the track need to be on the same side.
