Do You Use Plasticville On Your Layout?

I use it on the Christmas layouts, and will use it on the basement layout when that gets going.  I’m a collector so I don’t plan on glueing or painting.  I would love to find a method of keeping them together that won’t damage the plastic.  

I have probable 1/2 dozen on layout. Many modifies or painted. I had them as a kid, and like the looks and how they fit on the layout, and reminds me to have fun and not get to serious if something isn't realistic enough.

Here's 3, the Sinclair station looks exactly like the newest one built in my home town during late 50s.

James, I think your Plasticville structures look great in your winter scene. Arnold

I love Plasticville and have a few pieces on my permanent layout.    The guy on the Frosty Bar is checking out the ladies in the pool.  The motel is a tad seedy but I love the angular door frame on the building.  Back in the 50s dad would bring home a piece or two for the layout under the Christmas tree.

With six brothers, it is amazing that anything survived us at all over the years.  But somehow I still have trains and Plasticville on the layout today.  Albeit, any of the Plasticville buildings I do have had to be modified due to missing/broken components.  Only the church is a recent purchase.

The station had three complete sides and the roof, so I had to manufacture one wall and the station platform.

The church is new, just painted.

The house on top of the mountain had three sides and a partial roof.

The only parts of a station platform that survived were the roof support beams.

Yes, with the O scale layout, I kit bashed and custom painted almost all the structures.  One example is that I cut the triangle peaks off some Cape Cods, and used a second for the second floor.  Added a basement section, front porch, changed the door on 2nd floor to a window and filled or made a widow's walk.

Took 2 hopitals and made a mini shopping center of them (like in my old town of Ambler).  Most of the rest was custom painting and adding details. 

Now I'm in S Scale and glad I didn't get rid of them, they'll look even better in S.
