I rode the one to view the Matterhorn (which was clouded over) , and w-a-a-a-y back when rode the one that runs up Pike's Peak, when it was still steam. Wonder if anybody has even scratchbuilt a model of that last one or one of those steam engines, and it once was very well publicized and traveled. Now I just hear about the auto road, although in one trip through Manitou Springs I drove to the "station", and trains were not running but one of the cog steamers was on display.
In old RMC's or MR's I vaguely remember ads of model cog roads but nothing more..and, I think, cable car setups...which I have, and I think you still can ride
in less exotic Pittsburgh (I can't remember, but is Pittsburgh's a cog road vs. a
cable car?), and another much more exotic foreign location, but not
in Switzerland where I think there are several. San Francisco's famous trolleys
operate on what I vaguely remember as cables in the street, that the motorman
clamps something around the cable like a couple of brake shoes at the steeper
locations?
