This is a no-brainer for anyone with experience (and maybe common sense). Over the weekend I put my new section of test track to work, trouble-shooting an engine on test rollers. My great idea for connecting to the DCS TIU was banana plugs so I could go straight to the TIU and then disconnect the track. That would be better for changing sound files. During my repair I did something wrong and heard a familiar pop. Not the 5 amp circuit breaker that has protected the engines on the track 100's of times but the 20 amp fuse inside the TIU! Did I take a breath, calmly assess the situation and come up with an alternate approach? Of course not! I yanked out the blown fuse, shoved in a new one and went right back to what I was doing and blew another fuse. My wife saved me from myself by ordering me out of the house (walk the dog) because of the language coming from the train room. Now the test track gets connected to the main track busbar. Lesson learned is that your test track should also have a circuit breaker depending upon how you use it.
