YANKSALI: If you can scratch build a concession booth and a screen, Miller Engineering has the entrance billboard for you.
There was a layout at the recent Big E show that had a drive-in. The layout used an old cell phone as the display.
I have, in the past, seen a kit for non-working drive-in, in auction on the net, and also in layout photos here. So can be found.
Yanksali,
I am in the middle of a Drive-In. I used a DVD player that is mounted underneath the table and the screen is up through a slot in the table. Screen size is around 10 inch. I did purchase the Miller Engineering entrance sign as someone mentioned. I also used a Department 56 "Stardust Drive-In Concession Stand" for the concession stand. I normally don't user their buildings but it was pretty good for what I wanted. I did have to remove the "snow" on the roof etc. There is one now on the bay for around $50.00 if you want to look at one. Good luck with your build. JP
Using DVD player is a smart idea.
I used an old tablet for the movie screen. Downloaded movies off the internet. I used the frostys bar as a concession stand and kit bashed a ticket booth. I'll post photos when I get home ig your interested.
There have been some really good threads on home spun operating drive-ins in the past. I highly suggest a hunt. The tips will go beyond just the screen.
The headrest screens for cars are another option. Last I entertained the thought, they were the cheapest option if you only needed the monitor portion.
Maybe an LED tv and/or computer monitor? If this were G scale, my old led flat monitor would work out for sure. It kinda looks like a modern drive-in screen already. I'm not sure how small they get now.
A lesser result (maybe equal with a full time computer cord?) might be had with digital picture frames. Some at least do slide shows, so with extrenal processing hardlined, maybe video...? (for a modern billboard, ok for sure)
This is a link to where you can download a lot of the Drive-in movie ads that use to run between shows. I downloaded them an burned them onto a dvd so they run on my Drive-in.

Thanks for all the valuable tips.
jsp. Would like to see your photos to ticket booth and concession stand
Look at “seat back DVD players. Could easily be incorporated as a drive in.
