Might try a search for New-Ray brand trucks. I don't remember seeing a dump truck, but my LHS has recently been carrying quite a few trucks from this line and they are reasonably priced, like in the $15-$25 range, for small trucks to semi's. They are pretty nice trucks too. They had zero O gauge trucks until they started getting these in, all were S and HO before.
Go to die cast direct and look under dump trucks. New Ray has one for $17.00. It's a Kenworth. Don't know the year. New Ray also has some vintage Mack and another in different body styles for the same price. These are more 1950's. It is a simple matter to swap cabs.

Check out your local Truck Stop. Most of them are located close to the interstate. I found a couple vehicles on sale for 50% off last time I was in one. The store had a large assortment. I bought a pick up pulling a motor cycle trailer for $4.50.
New Ray's Kenworth dump trusk is usually less than $25. It is a fairly good model, quite detailed and good looking. It is a scale 1:43 model of a BIG truck and so it is a lot bigger than most other O-gauge diecast vehciles, even 1:43 Macks and such, you will find: it may be too big to fit into scenes you want to make - for example placed next to the Ford vintage trucks that rattler21 shows, it looks totally "wrong" nearby them.
You can find this just about everywhere, including that big river site, the bay, etc.
Most other 1:50 and 1:48 and 1:43 dump trucks cost around $65 and up on those sites, and others. You can sometimes find Speccast dump trucks below $50. They are very good looking.
Diecast Direct a good choice for finding something....
How about this one?....
This New Ray tandem that Lee has shown is VERY popular through our store (LHS)...
Going to York in a couple weeks?? I recall some dealers who have a plethora of diecast vehicles....surely there'll be a dumper or two among them.
Tractor Supply store near you? They often have diecast vehicles...maybe a dump truck.
Not sure what distinguishes a '60's-70's' era dump truck. (Less chrome and fins???) Besides, by the time you weather/rust/dent it up to have it look like it's been truly useful, who'd notice the 'era-r'?
FWIW.

ERTL made a couple. Good luck finding one.
