IMG_8779IMG_8778IMG_8778Hi! Anyone have an any luck locating parts and replacing a hall effect sensor on a T 1 18006 Reading 484? It’s from 1989 and the sensor wires broke off. Upon closer inspection it seems the problem is the sensor and connections are oxidized. The sensor appears to be unserviceable. How does the sensor mount to the bracket? Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated!

It's possible that the white stuff may have no effect on the sensor's ability to function.  Have you tried reconnecting the two broken wires to see if it works?

Sensor terminals are DC + input, ground, and signal output.  Testing with a multi-meter and tracing the wires back to their sources should reveal which is which before cleaning the terminals and re-soldering the 2 broken connections.  Maybe worth a try before ordering a new part?
