Wiring question on #42 electric. What is the actual purpose of the AC/DC switch? What in the wiring changes, does it shunt the field windings from series to parallel? Does it make the engine run more efficiently in DC mode from a 6volt car battery? Does it lock out the reverse switch on the opposite side? Any wise info appreciated.

Very cool engine !! The wiring diagram leaves me befuddled. I pay someone to fix things like that.
