I picked up a err ac or D.C. Commander from a small train show today along with some Kline mp15 parts. It is intact with the

receiver board. I have a couple of questions.

1) were any versions of this board ac and D.C. Operation? In other words the one with the full bridge rectifier could be switched to AC operation?

2) Or the one with the full bridge rectifier is strictly D.C. Operation?

3) what are jumpers jp2 for on the board. What position should they be in.

4) any source for the connectors used on the board?

I've looked at the err site. A little confusing as to if one board supports both ac and D.C. Or you had to order it in ac or dc

configuration..

Not sure about the jumpers, I have a couple of AC commanders in house, but I don't routinely buy the DC commanders, I install a Cruise Commander if DC is called for.  FWIW, the AC commander has two jumpers installed going across the right hand sets of pins, I suspect they're to jumper the operation for the AC function.  Since the same physical board is used for AC and DC, my guess is these might be jumpering across the missing rectifier for a path for the AC.

I'd try it with no jumpers if that's what it has now.  Failing that, give Ken at ERR a call, I'm sure he knows.

Here's a picture of a DC Commander.  It has them jumpered the same as the new AC Commanders I have.  It was selling in the for-sale forum, and it represented as new.

You can find those on eBay, they're .1" pitch Euro style terminal blocks.  You might also be able to remove one from a dead board, several styles of boards use those.  I may have a dead board or two with those on it.

Thanks, John! Been so removed from the electrical engineering stuff since 1988! Lol - Don't even want to open a book! Or these days online. Thanks
