An Emoji can better convey a thought, message, attitude or emotion than words can.
My first career was a mechanical draftsman/CAD operator/machine designer.
Without question, I had an up and close view of the adage: "A picture is worth a thousand words"
The the root word for Emoji is emotion.

I believe that Emojis could cut down on some of the noise of this forum.
How?  Maybe an Emoji would better show a person's excitement over something written that is very positive.
Maybe an Emoji would indicate agreement or they approve of what is being said.
Maybe an Emoji could be a peaceful, quiet way of saying I disagree.

Without Emojis, words are required to respond and in an online forum, the written word can not always actually tell how something is written.
Often, someone writes something and it is taken the wrong wrong.
Maybe, I would guess a small amount of our members, could craft proper structured sentences to display his/her emotions.
Most others cannot  (I would ask not to diverge from the topic to agree why more people are unskilled at the written word)
My point is Emoji can make up for this deficiency and maybe make a more level playing field for all forum members.
Better communications should be our goal to more easily trade information about O Gauge model trains.

To Rich's defense, if these things were allowed and turned on, I could see where maybe they could get outta hand.
Knowing Rich in the small way that I do, I am sure that would never happen.

Last point..we have Emojis now, this forum software calls them "Graemlins"...so what are we chatting about this for?

I have been able to add emojis from my Samsung S6. I use the ones that are part of the standard keyboard.

Sorry to hear all of your stuff is in storage.

Yeah, ive had my stuff in storage for almost a year. Sold our house and couldn't find a suitable replacement in time. Never dreamed it would take this long. Seems like the housing market in the Northeast has fallen off the map!

Thanks for the thoughts!
