Got a SD40-2 PS-3 engine back from MTH service about a month ago and it appeared to be running well. However this past week we noticed it was stalling on number 8 turnouts. Further checking found that the front wheels on the lead truck, these are regular flanged wheels, have no continuity between them side to side, and the engine will not power up when we apply power to these wheels and the pickup. The traction tire wheels and the rear truck drive wheels all have continuity from side to side and the engine powers up fine when applying power to them. The lead rails on the turnouts are powered by relays and other engines run through them with no problem. What say you? Back to MTH or is there a quick fix?
