I have taken 2 motors from a  Williams chuggington engine and put them into a Williams non-powered Genesis.  It has cruise control.  I have tried to pair it with the other genesis which I have.  They run together ok, but not great.  The main issue with the originally non powered engine is that it stops very quickly. Do you think this a problem of the gearing from the chuggington, the motor or the fly wheel.

What command base are you using?  If using the Legacy CAB2, what control mode are you running in, TMCC, CAB1, R100?

One thing that happens is in CAB1 or R100 mode with the ERR boards in 100 step mode, a quick twist of the big red knob will bring them to a sudden stop.  Also, if you change directions, that will result in an immediate stop.  Also, in the relative step mode, there is no momentum applied, so you get immediate response to speed command steps.

using cab 2.  will try different settings and see what happens.  No matter which mode the engine behaves pretty much the same.  If you change direction or turn wheel to stop engine it occurs very quickly, not as smooth as other engines.  Also changed momentum settings and same results. I have got to think it is either the board or smaller flywheel on this engine.

 

I can't duplicate that, even with my little RMT BEEP with a Cruise Commander Lite.  if I get it going at a decent clip and then SLOWLY reduce the speed, I can bring it down very gracefully to a smooth stop in either CAB1 or R100 mode.  FWIW, the RMT BEEP has no flywheels, so it's not a flywheel issue.  It's also not clear to me how the board could do that and still function otherwise.
