Engineer figures and firemen for mth cabs

MTH sells a set of 4 with seats to add to any cab. Part 30-11064

To add to what Russell stated above, MTH released another run of their cab figures fairly recently.  I picked up a couple sets of them.  You should be able to find them out there on the web...maybe even at one of the Forum sponsors!

The MTH sets come with 4 figures. Two could pass for steam era but the other two appear more contemporary. Arttista has some very nice steam era figures and are no more expensive.

I would like to know how does one unglue the figures from the diesel cabs.

You would have to ask the Chinese. Both figures fell out of my NS SD60M, as did all the glazing.  I would suspect a small drop of acetone would loosen the glue.

They have them (well at least the guys) at the hobby shop down the road from me.  I think they're $23 for 4 seated (the MTH figures).

woodland scenics one is really nice.  I bet I could get that to fit in the window of the MTH cab  thanks.  Mike, 23 bucks is pretty good.  I see Ebay is 28 but you get 6 from what it said.  Arttista has a bunch of figires painted and unpainted.  mmmm  decisions. 

For the in-cab figures I see that MTH and Artista sell a seat to go with them.  Does the woodland scenic figures come with a seat or is it not needed?  What's the preferred way of attaching these guys inside a loco?

Why are train crew figures so expensive?

Because folks will pay it! Likely MTH, Woodland Scenics, etc. follow the pricing from companies like Artista. I believe Artista figures are made and painted in the US. The other companies make the stuff overseas and charge the same price.

A couple of years after my wife bought me a second hand Lionel 2046 Hudson 4-6-4 steam locomotive, she also bought me an Artista made Engineer and Fireman set. 

These, figures are well made and very detailed and have a realistic appearance, Artista makes great products and one can understand why their prices are dear.

Without any problem, the figures fit right into the Hudson cab and look great.

All I had to do was fashion seats for the figurines.

  K-line made the sitting military passengers also, they are real nice, there still maybe some left if you search the net.
