ERR AC Commander and Post War Coil Couplers

That will work. I have used post war trucks with their coil couplers with ERR stuff. The coil impedance is within an ohm of modern electrocouplers.

I’m putting an AC Commander in a 2426w and had the same question. Should the sliding shoe pickup be disabled or could it be left alone and provide uncoupling in conventional mode without affecting the circuit board?

I would not leave the shoe connected, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be good for the R4LC triac if you fed it track voltage!

Would you not feel better using new couplers?    Just wondering.  I am not a fan of using very old electronics.  Couplers are cheap.

I’m using a Postwar 2426W tender with original 6-wheel trucks. Replacing the coupler doesn’t seem like an option.

That's what I thought Don.   I have to agree with Marty, if you have the option, the new coupler is the way to go.  However, I suspect in this case, that's not really an option.

Likewise, coupler replacement on a 2360 presents mounting problems that can't be reversed once performed.
