ERR Install Question

I have the same engine and it's a great unit.

I've only done a couple ERR upgrades but, I'd say you would need a Cruise Commander and Railsounds board (depending on what's dead on the loco).

One of the ERR masters like Gunrunner John will probably chime in at some point too.

I followed your ERR installs thread with great interest because I knew I'd probably want to tackle one eventually, if I found the right candidate.

There are a few Commanders on the ERR list, so I'm not sure which one I need for this particular application and not sure if I need a railsounds board or if the existing TMCC board is usable (assuming it's not damaged). 

My other option is to re-paint my Legacy Rio Grande GP9 in NH colors, but I'd rather try the ERR install and expand my roster.

Depending on what is actually dead, you can do this with much less work than a full ERR upgrade.  I'd start by evaluating what you have.

Agreed, …dead electronics could be simple as an unraveled wire nut, or an unseated radio board on this engine,….if most of the electronics work, and it has a dead driver, then a ERR Cruise M upgrade would be good repair option,….
