Two years ago, I converted my 3rd Rail Niagara to ERR electronics - Cruise Commander, Railsounds Commander, smoke unit.  Later, I swapped out the Railsounds Commander boards - "large steam" out, "Daylight" in - so that the horn would work.  Whistle, bell, and horn all work as they should.  Chuff does not.  The chuff input to the Cruise Commander varies between 5V and 0V as the tender wheel is rotated, yet there's no chuffing sound.  All wiring between the Cruise Commander and the Railsounds Commander is exactly as it should be.  I have not tried moving the chuff sensor connection to the Railsounds Commander board.  I have tried two different radio boards (R2LC-08) with no change in behavior.  I have not tried putting the "large steam" ERR Railsounds card back in, in place of the "Daylight" card.  Any ideas on what's amiss?

One note, because I got caught up in this with ERR sounds- they support the advanced separate volume function for prime mover- which in steam is chuff.

In other words- the GLOBAL volume is plain old TMCC buttons 1 and 4, however, you can ALSO hit AUX1 first before hitting volume- and separately adjust chuff.

And if someone set chuff volume down previously- even in convetional operation- you get no chuff sound because it stored the lowered volume.

Here is a diesel example where the prime mover sounds had been turned down https://ogrforum.com/topic/no-...y=110111032344933838

Again, hit AUX1 and then immediately #1 several times to attempt to bring the chuff volume to max.

Exactly what is triggering the chuff and exactly how it it wired?

Hall-effect sensor pull-to-common wired to chuff input terminal of Cruise Commander (#2).  Same arrangement as my 3rd Rail J-1d Hudson, which works just fine (though with TAS smoke puffer and Lionel Railsounds board.  (Latter fed data stream from Cruise Commander, not wired directly to sensor.)

THANK YOU!  That is entirely possible and I will check it out ASAP!
