Hi,
I was wondering if anyone out there that sells ETS Trains would have a Sequoia Lumber Train Set that I could nab a price quote on? This is a great looking set.
Thanks,
John

Hi Ryan,
What is the best way to contact B&B? Do they have an email address as I may be interested in some of the older models.
All the best,
Miketg
Mike,
The owners name is Bill Allcorn and their info is (412) 580 4570 or wallcorn at verizon.net. He told me that the best way to contact them is by phone. He also had all configurations and was willing to swap out trucks and couplers. I just got a set last weekend and now I am already planning my next order. These are very addictive little trains.

Swapping out trucks and couplers isn't as easy as it sounds, because of the buffers. The US versions don't have them, and on at least some of the cars, there are differences in the frame because Euro couplers are body mounted and US couplers are truck mounted. I've done or tried to do a number of these swaps, and it ain't easy. I'd be interested in seeing if he's managed to add buffers to a car that started out as a US version.
I got the Sequoia Mallet a few years ago, but missed getting the log cars. I bought these stake side cars from Black Forest Hobbies. They had one listed on E-Bay so I asked if they had more. Got 4 of them.

B&B actually said it was quite difficult to swap out the trucks or couplers but they were willing to do it. They even offered the Euro wheel with knuckle couplers. To do this they used an MTH knuckle coupler and a spacer in place of the ETS coupler. These bodies are all nut and bolted together. They are well built but not easy to take apart.
I took the 217 electric locomotive apart to install an ERR mini commander and add electro-couplers. The install was very easy but getting the mounting plate realigned to secure the body back to the frame was not easy.

Will the Sequoia Lumber Train run properly on Lionel O Curve or Lionel O-27 Curve three rail track?
I was told that the optimal curve track is 0-54 and the minimum curve track is O-45.
I have a Lionel #2037 Loco that pulls nine freight cars and it runs fine on my oval layout under the Christmas Tree. (two straight tracks between curve tracks on end of oval) and (four straight tracks between the curves on each of the sides of the oval).
Does anyone want to chime in on this?
Thanks,
John
My Sequoia will run without problems on Lionel 0-42 curves. It will derail on 0-31.
I obtained three of the MTH spine log cars (MTH 30-7677) to trail my Sequoia. The spine cars are somewhat small - the Sequoia is 1:45 - but overall I think they look okay. An ETS Sequoia Lumber Company caboose (#506) brings up the rear.
It will also run on 036 Fastrack, barely
