Nothing to be afraid about. I've had Legacy since it first was introduced and it's terrific. Read the manual, there's a lot of info in it and the old train photos are fun.

Do reference the TMCC/Legacy board here with tips and questions.

At some point too you can download and install the Legacy System Utility to your computer.

No doubt you will enjoy it.

I'm a Legacy virgin too.

I plan to hook up my new 990 Legacy system on Saturday and get to running my Big Boy and Pennsylvania T-1 (both Lionmasters). The 990 will be hooked up to the same track that is currently being operated by the MTH DCS system. I've only been running my MTH motives, but now that the 990 Legacy system has arrived I can roll out the Lionel Legacy engines (they've been in storage in the garage waiting patiently).

I have already replaced my MTH Z1000 brick with a Lionel Powerhouse 180 so (hopefully) everything will play nice together.

You should do good installing it and then enjoying the Legacy sound!

With this forum at your back, there is nothing to be afraid of as you build your Legacy system on to your layout. I wish you luck on your endeavor. If we were on the sea I'd say it's "smooth sailin" but since you will be installing a new system it'll be one direction after another follow the manual,test,then follow another ,test then follow another test and pretty soon your done.
