Guys I have a lionmaster n&w class A engine. The smoke unit is a dunb unit. It has no chuff and puff capabilities. I want to use a magnetic reed switch and four magnets on the trailing truck to get the four chuff per rev. I need to find a replacement lionel smart smoke unit and a compatible ac reg board to replace my unit in this engine. The smart smoke unit will allow me to get the chuff and puff and also be able to shift to constant on with the fan when the engine gets up to higher speed steps. The err chuff and puff would work for my unit but it just with the reed switch turns the fan off and on. I would rather have a smart smoke unit for this application. I searched the lionel part sights for fan driven units but no smart smoke units came up in the search. I typed in fan driven smoke. I have a picture of the original unit included. Maybe the legacy lionmaster big boy smoke unit will work not sure? Any suggestions would be helpfull. If the mounting bracked needs to be modified I am willing to do this. I have not taken this engine apart yet. Would like to fix this all in one shot so if anyone has any suggestions on this task please chime in. All opinions welcome. Thanks.
