Note that Yellowstone Special has visited the forum several times since his "departure", the last of which was one hour ago.  In my experience on the forum (since September of 2000), people who actually leave just do it, and without fanfare.  Many, many others dramatically announce that they are leaving, then wait for a string of posts that encourage them to stay, checking on those posts regularly.  Typically this is followed by a message that they are staying after all.

A recurring theme seems to be the people here and friendships developed here, both virtual and in the 1:1 world.  Get togethers at the Westchester County Center, a diner in Freeport, Trainstock, York, Trainstock, I'm sure things like this happen across the country because of this great Forum.  I'm certain this is what keeps bringing many of us back.

Geez Bob. OK, here is my last post and I appreciate all of the responses. I just felt it was better to make a farewell post, than to disappear without a trace.  PH175 is correct. I simply notified the forum that I wouldn’t be posting here anymore, because I’m basically all posted out and have other interests. These include spending time with family (3 grown kids and 12 grandkids), summer traveling, and playing my pedal steel guitar with a small musical group (Country and Hawaiian) I belong to.

Signing in for subsequent visits, which obviously, some of you felt a need to check on, was for posting “Likes” to members’ responding posts, and in some cases, a follow-up thank you email. Going forward, I still may peek in from time to time without posting. I hope this is all right with some of you. 🤔
