Fastrack only switches one direction?

If you look at the black pie shaped piece at the end of travel there is a microswitch it has to close.

Turn the switch manually to the end of travel and listen for the click of the microswitch. If it's not clicking the turnout doesn't "know" it's thrown in the other direction. It doesn't change the lights and it won't go back.

I used a small piece of electrical tape to act as a shim on the edge of the pie shaped piece so it will close the microswitch. Others have built up the edge with a little CA adhesive.

I'm fairly confident the micro switches are playing nice with the pie gear thing.  Manually closing the micro switches has no effect.  The lights on the wired remote change to red to green and back (manually turning to the turn position".

I don't know if this means anything...  If in the turn position, while holding the wired remote to "turn", if I manually move the switch with the lantern thing, I feel the motor try and move (or keep) to the turn position.

It sounds to me like the board is fried. You have proven that 1) the motor runs and 2) the switch is mechanically functional and 3) the microswitches are functioning (both indicator lights working) so that leaves the board. Do you have another switch you can temporarily rob a board from to test?

Try swapping the red and green wire at the switch and see if the opposite happens. This diagram may help to trace wires.

I do have another functioning switch.  I'm reluctant to put a good board in the bad switch - fear it might fry the good board too (with my luck!).

I'll compare wiring and see it anything is mis-wired.  Will also switch the red & green and see what that does.
