so far all I did was disconnect the operating track had no effect. it still sparked and shorted as soon as it hit the switch rail Tomorrow evening I hope to get back to it and try moving a different switch there and see what happens Ill take a picture also. The position is in the right turn position. Thanks

It sounds like the switch internal wiring is wired incorrectly. If this is a new switch and has always behaved this way I would return it to the dealer. If you bought it used or this is a new development you're going to have to open it up and take a look inside. If you're handy with a volt meter that helps.

I want to thank everyone for there input. I switched out the broken switch and took one from another spot on the layout, it works fine. I opened up the switch and i couldn't figure out whats wrong I took out something floating inside it looks like silicone or glue. That's all I can tell, but I believe when my upper rail collapsed on to the bottom it must have damaged the switch inside. I'll just have to get a new one . Thanks again

Can you point exactly where the stall occurs? Roller positions especially.

Was that a manual throw? Or is that just the replacement sw. seen?

I'm wondering if a rail hasn't dipped from being crushed, allowing a roller bridge.

I sure wouldn't be shy about finding out more about why, nothing to loose

I dont think they are electro-frogged in anyway...?

The two innermost outside rails are the trigger rails for the non-rail. (The V ) Check to see if the turn-out rail is touching the triangle. Put a screwdriver in between a push down a little to ensure there is a gap.

The weight from the collapse may have closed it.

You can also double-check the controller connections. Too long of a stripped wire can pass through the terminal block and touch other connections.
