I had 4 or 5 pairs of fastrack transition pieces, but today I removed all the tubular track from my layout. I am trying to put the O-27 ends together and make just a 10 inch piece of straight fastrack. I noted that in the regular 10 inch fastrack, there's a jumper joining the outside rails. So, I soldered a wire to connect the outside rails on each of the 5" pieces. I'm pretty sure I soldered them properly, and there shouldn't be any shorts, but when one of my locos goes over that track, the e-unit puts it in neutral.
Should I remove the jumpers I installed?
