I altered the first design slightly to eliminate a pending disaster. Do you think you could live with this?

I show left side, right side to "stitch together" if you can. Then tossed in the middle, which is shown in the other two as a section. Now, to pick it all up, put down snow batting, and lay it down again.

I appreciate your thoughts....nothing is set in stone yet. But I have to have some track where it is to accomadate some accessories.  The goal is to be able to run 4 trains at once with DCS.

Have a great day, Greg

It seems very tight. Are you running 027 and short trains?

Don, the curves run from 31 to 54, some 42 in there, all Realtrax. Yep, some are tight. And no, 12 years ago I ran some fairly long trains around such animals - not long like some people's but long to me 8 to 12 cars You do what you gotta do I guess. Wish me luck, I will probably need it. Greg

Probably not much interest, but I did find a video of one of my earlier Christmas layouts, if anyone wants to take a train ride...it is viewed from the front of the engine. It is too long, unless you are a real train nut. There are quite a few trains running at the same time. I hope you enjoy it if  you watch it. Greg

"Could you add a triangle to the bench so you can smooth out that curve?"

I already have 3 triangles cut, one there and two for the middle. I am trying to decide if I will use them, but am pretty certain, I will put one there, simple matter of adding ledgers to each board side..

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!  Greg

Wellll.......It appears "finally" is not really finally!!  I think I am going backwards. I was ready to start more wiring, after running wires to 13 switches and mounting the controllers inside of my cut out, then I decided to change the track plan! (and Christmas is getting closer!!) I added another board and straight track to the outside dogbone/loop. Old plan shown above in top of thread,

I un-did 2 days worth of switch wiring and then............I closed the gap between left and right (see added board), added 2 more switches - to get a full loop with a dogbone. Spent last 2 days  re-running the controller wires to all switches! I gotta stop shooting myself in the foot!

Good news is, trains navigate the pattern. Bad news is, I hate the pattern, not real good for running 4 or more trains. I know that the wizards on here would have come up with a better track plan. If this were a permanent layout, I would yank it all up, reconfigure the boards, and start over.

It is getting too close to Christmas to do that. Time to wire up accessories, and start dropping things onto the barren real estate. (I have to cut an insert, and decorate it, to cover the center access panel. I am good at making up work to do! Idiot!)

Greg  new plan below.........................new left side shown
