After having my Marx packed in boxes for 52 years, today I laid an oval that is 12 foot by 4.5 foot and is the innermost track around the opperating pit of my 19 feet by 10.5 feet layout.  I have next to my new track, a loop of ON30, then a switching loop of O-gauge and a running loop of O-gauge on the out side of my layout.  When I get all the rewiring done, I will be able to run four trains at the same train. What a nice farthers day gift to my self.

Hi Al, glad to hear you are setting up your trains again, and also glad to see someone else is going the O-27 route.  I have a six by six O-27 layout with two manual switches and an elevated line. Recently I sprang for all the fancies like postwar style lamp posts, an operating semaphore, MPC whistle shack, and an automatic station (not all at once though, I'm not Mr. Monopoly)! I think its cool you have a twelve foot straight run, gives your engines a chance to stretch their legs.  Have fun.

Hello NewHaven, Most of the track I have on hand is rather old and dirty and is a poor conductor.  So I am getting new Lionel O-27, but there are no O34 curves to be had, so I have ordered O42 curves which will work just fine for me as I have the space.  I had a test of running all steamers with smoke.  I could still smell smoke fluid two days later.  As for fancies, they are hard to find here in Spfd as there are only 2 of us tinplaters.
