The time has come and I’m finally able to go to York this year. Will be going Friday then heading back Saturday. First thing I having issues with is start time. I saw 9 online for the public, I am a TCA member. Is there a earlier time for members or just access to the members hall. Also I’m looking for stuff to do after York on Friday. Places to eat/see. Saturday I plan to hit Strasbourg and Railroad museum of Pennsylvania and if time is good maybe the TCA museum. But I’m open to any suggestions. Any info is greatly appreciated.

The show starts at 9 am for all members and the public.  As a member you will be able to get into all of the halls, versus the public which only gets into the formal dealer halls (orange, etc...)

As for places to eat, that is really up to what you like.  The York fairgrounds will have food carts for eating at during the show and I believe there are buildings with food/dining in them.

As for the TCA museum, I believe that is closed during the York meet, so you had better check on its hours.  I know they typically have an open house at the museum on Wednesday and then closed the rest of the week?  Please check, as I could be wrong on this.

Whether your on the right forum or not, you will have a ball. York is the largest train Meet I’ve ever attended, more trains, more people, more train displays, whatever your needs are, it’s there somewhere. Your near Strasburg, lots of trains to see and possibly The Choo Choo Barn is still open, with a large fun to see operating layout, a must see. The Orange Hall is one of my favorites as you could go booth to booth and see a lot of the vendors that advertise in OGR The Magazine, and here on the digital forum. It really takes two good full days to cover the show, make friends, share stories and meet the OGR Staff. It’s a lot of fun, you might take some cash, it’s great for bargaining. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Expresses, clean, affordable. Have fun and be sure and see CSX AL at the Millhouse booth and tell him Leapin Larry says Hi. Happy Railroading Everyone
