My first attempt at weathering. I used black, grey, and two different dirt colors Any tips would be appreciated.

Looks good to me, I like your choice of primary colors. Most truck mounted cranes are very well maintained. If you could find some color photographs of like equipment they may show some slight rust or streaks where water ran down from the rusted areas. John in Lansing, ILL

Nice job! Agree with the guys these wouldn't be filthy dirty, mostly just from the job site. I built one and it was accidentally knocked to the floor, now it is modeled in the "folded" position after surgery...
Well done, I suggest some vertical streaks of different shades, perhaps even very light rust on the derrick.

The cranes we use are all in pretty clean shape, referenced images like these for the weathering. With the prices they charge appearance and condition is usually very, very good!
