Flood light tower has short.. | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Anyone ever have problems with their flood tower? The one with two rows of four lights. It throws the breaker on my transformer. I hooked it up to just one transformer by itself and it does the same thing. It has those rivets holding it on... so I can't take the plate off. Anyone think the bulbs could be the culprit? I bought it a few weeks ago and this is the first time I turned it on. I also took it off the tower and hooked the wires directly to the lights with the same results.

If you can, remove all the lights and plug it back in.

If no short is there , then put the bulbs in one at a time

until you find the bulb or socket that is the culprit...

If it shorts with no bulbs, start tracing wire....

This should keep you busy tomorrow but you'll still

have to cut the grass....

I took all the bulbs out and then put them back in and now it works!

For now. I'd be temped to try to localize what was causing the short.
