As I am learning more about this "scale", I now know Lionel stuff is different in size, depending on the series.

Are Flyer freight cars similar, or are they more or less the same "size"; and if so, are they closer to Lionel's 200 series or the 500 size?

Thank you.

They appear to have a rather odd coupler set-up... 🤔

Directional couplers, like all AF wide gauge.

One male, one female coupler per car.

Cabeese have 2 females to run cupola forward or reverse, whichever your preference.

Locomotives have 2 male couplers, to pull trains from either end.

It can be a slightly annoying setup sometimes when you’re trying to be creative, and makes double heading locos more challenging.

Another problem is occasionally you find cars that were built wrong by the factory and have to run backwards in the train.  The employees weren’t always the best at putting the right couplers on the correct end.  Worst ones are the baggage cars that run with the large cargo door towards the rear, and the lighting pickup rollers forward, which can snag on switches and some tight curves if it drops off the center rail.

My OCD also hates president special sets that will have 3 cars running air tanks forward like normal, then one will be built incorrectly (backwards) and have to run battery box forward to couple with the others.  Ruins the whole uniformity for me.
