Thanks, Dave and Lee.

I'll be making some buildings again after the holidays. I'll try some a some print shops to see who has a nice result.

I have the large photo paper and will try that with the photo cartridges to see if I get a better result.

Most of the laser printers won't handle the tabloid size and a plotter is definitely not in the train budget.

Since these "backdrop" buildings are set in the background I would suggest that the buildings would be reduced in scale somewhat to give the illusion of perspective. The amount of reduction would depend on the building "setback" distance. 

 

I am working on a 1/64th scale model of the Kansas city Union Station.  The model will be 2D with some 3D details added.

Yes.  Especially seeing as a 40 story building would be like 10 feet tall.
