Mark,

Thanks for the teases.  I have two NS heritage hoppers on order to my local store.  I was wondering if you would be able to do more heritage hoppers?  The ones in particular that would be nice for me would be:

NS Illinois Terminal (Green and Silver)

NS Wabash (Navy and Silver)

NS NYC (Black and Silver)

NS Penn Central (Black and White)

NS Erie (Green scheme)

Also, I was wondering if you would do more caboose (cabeese?) in a similar scheme?  The MTH/Lionel offerings are nice but somewhat cost prohibitive for me.

Thanks,

Also, I am looking for a Rosie the Riveter boxcar.  Do you know where I can buy one?

Hi Trainplace,

I love the ideas - thank you!

I'll do a little more research and see what we can come up with. I am fond of the heritage cars also. If the design is well-received, I think the cabooses would be a good idea too!

As far as the Rosie boxcar goes, the only way to get one is by purchasing a 6-Pack of nose art boxcars. Or if you are lucky, you might be able to find one at a store near you. Unfortunately, I can't tell you which stores have inventory because the item number is the same for all nose art boxcars.

Crest Hill Menards had these two on the shelf, so I scooped them up today.   If you are interested in one or both cars just e-mail tfshearer@gmail.com and let me know which unique number you prefer or if you would like me to open the clamshell for any more photos..  I am tax exempt so one car would be $24.99 + USPS.

Trainplace, is there a way you can do a Lehigh Valley, PC, & Virginian versions. If they made a LV and VGN version, I would buy that.

Lehigh Red Hopper Heritage Banner 3

My first attempt at Lehigh Valley using the Pennsylvania RR base.

Lehigh Red Hopper Black Diamond

One without the NS banner.  more like the heritage unit #8104.

Lehigh Red Hopper No Heritage Banner 2

Last one taken from the #8104 nose.

I'd be real interested in Nickel Plate Road versions of a heritage hopper and caboose. But, the Heritage caboose, unlike everyone else's offerings, should be red and feature the "High Speed Service" stripe on it. I think everyone else did black to go with 8100, and it just doesn't capture the NKP at all for me.

Trainplace - You have some great ideas there. They are all fantastic, but I'm really digging the Erie and the Wabash.

NKP Red Hopper HSS 2

Not a caboose, but something I thought might look neat.

This looks really cool actually. Totally outside the box, but I really like it.
