Found this at a yard sale today the seller wanted $15 offered $10 and settled at $12. The seller was just glad the train set was going to a good home. In the box there was 11curve sections and 12 straight sections of track and a old transformer. The freight cars need some minor tlc however, the caboose shell had been damage might just replace the shell with something I would like. The transformer still works though the cord may need to be replaced. The 212 does run but the shell has seen better days. The 215 is a dummy unit but still in ok shape. Overall happy to find this unexpectedly today.

Probably the best $ 12.00 you have spent in a long time.
Nice find at a yard sale or whatever a tagsale is. Looks like 027 track. You could see about combining parts from the two engines and get one that works out of it.
The transformer if it is a low watt can be used for layout lighting.
Just for a post war set of trucks at a trainshow in south Florida the sellers want about $6.00 or better.

Haha yeah
Is the Lehigh Valley Car Black? If you can find a red one, the pair would be worth around 900 dollars...

Nice find.
Ya know, some people spend their whole lifetime going to yard sales and never find anything Lionel. I know, I've been there. Congratulations.

Thanks I was shocked to see it would have missed it if it was not for one of the locomotives poking out of the box.
Nice! Congratulations on the find. I bet it made yoor day!
Had I found that set, I would have been quite happy.
Congratulations on a nice find.
Worse case: the parts value of just the engine is well beyond what the set cost you.
Congratulations on your find. Like lionelbob, I have never found anything Lionel at any yard sale or thrift store.
At a Train Store or Hobby Shop the price would have been about $50-60.

good find.
I seem to never find trains in southern ca yard/garage sales.
That is a great find at a great price. I have had no such luck so far but keep looking!! Isn't it a great feeling when you manage to make such a sweet deal?
Enjoy!
