Recently my daughter gave me some sprues that resulted from a 3D printing project.

After cutting them apart they looked like tree trunks to me. I hot glued some pieces of lichen to them and some 7 - 9 foot (O scale) trees resulted:

Aah yes - the organic supports for supporting overhangs when 3D printing. Good idea! Now I have a use for those scraps.
