Up in Seattle for a week and noticed a different trash train from the short continers on the trains I see pictured back east. It looks like they are recycling 40' containers and putting canvas covers on them to keep trash from flying away as it runs to the dumps wherever they are. So no big job in converting some double stack containers to a trash train. Better than waiting for someone to produce a short dump contaner.

these run daily to eastern washington. they run south to the columbia then east into klickitat county; the dump is huge---
we also get coal trains from power river running the opposite direction 3/x a day. they go to vancouver to the export terminal.
I was going back to hotel and caught one of them coal trains. I was under impression the export of coal had collapsed with the downturn and China had mts. of it laying around as steal production etc was slack.
