Had my hoppin' john, a tradition I acquired from one of my southern friends.

We had blackeye peas and country ham - a Nashville, TN tradition. My wife was born and raised here. We had a large turnout (175-200K) just two blocks away for the New Year's Eve music fest with headliner Keith Urban and his lovely and talented wife Nicole Kidman usually attends. We could hear the fireworks while watching them on the TV! Instead of a ball drop, we have a music note drop, which is very appropriate for Nashville, the home of country music!
