I seem to recall there was a company that sold add-on boards for Lionel TMCC. I would like to get one for an MTH cab forward loco that I just purchased. Your help is appreciated!

Note that while you can get articulated sounds for the Cab Forward, you will not get the unique idle sounds that the cab forward has. I have a brass cab forward that I'm going to upgrade, and I picked up one of the Lionel Cab Forward RailSounds boards for the upgrade to get the unique sounds.
I purchased a couple of TMCC conversion boards for MTH PS1 in the early 2000's. As I recall, there were two stacked boards in the locomotives-one was for sound, the other was essentially the E-Unit (I know I am over simplifying this and probably not getting it quite right, but it has been a very long time).
You removed the sound board and it plugged directly into the TMCC conversion board (stacked like the original).
These worked pretty well, but the company who made them went out of business a very long time ago.
There were actually several options, Digital Dynamics and Train America Studios both had a product that used the PS/1 sounds and added TMCC. Neither company or product is currently around.

Where did you get the Lionel RailSounds board and how much was it?

I got it from Lionel Parts, I don't know if they still have them. I think it was around $25-30 dealer cost, it's been a while since I picked it up. I was embroiled in moving and setting up my new layout, and I haven't gotten back to many of my upgrade projects.
